These photographs are all taken around the town of Stamford in Lincolnshire, UK, the town that I lived in until the age of 18. Much of the town has been designated a building conservation area and several year ago it was voted by the Sunday Times as the best town to live in the UK. It is a market town amid agricultural countryside (mainly wheat, barley, dairy and beef cattle with large flocks of sheep including several rare breeds.)
Julie and I have taken innumerable walks around the town documenting both seasonal agriculture and the native flora. I have yet to select a specific photographic project but have mainly concentrated on composition: Julie’s term “shapes” is a far less ostentatious term.
